Bible Study

KJV Axis: A Study Bible for Teens. Finally, a stylish King James Version of the Bible just for teens! The King James Bible is known for its poetic beauty and structure. While its language may sound archaic today, a familiarity with this version of the Bible prepares modern students for reading Shakespeare. (The King James Bible was published in the same year that William Shakespeare began work on The Tempest.) The Axis Bible includes interesting introductions to each book, plus timelines and maps to connect Bible events with the history and geography learned in school. The Axis encourages teens to read and study the Bible for themselves, showing them through unique features and engaging design that God’s Word is timeless and relevant to their culture today.

Mathematics
(Four years required for college admission.)

Saxon Algebra 1 OR Algebra 2

Saxon is the only major math program on the market that systematically distributes instruction, practice, and assessment throughout the entire text as opposed to concentrating, or massing, related concepts into a short period of time--usually within a unit or chapter. Saxon’s unique approach ensures that students not only gain but also retain essential math skills.

English
(Four years required for graduation/college admission.)

English I

Easy Grammar Plus, by Wanda Phillips. (665 pages of advanced grammar concepts for high school through adult; self-paced, no grade level.)

Daily Grams, by Wanda Phillips. (English grammar activities and exercises for quick review and refresher practice. 180 guided lessons take only 10 minutes each day to reinforce mastery skills for the high school level. Concepts are spiraled so that students are reintroduced to them every 20-25 days. A student can actually work in the Daily Grams teacher edition text (answers are in the back). Then, for any siblings using that level of Daily Grams later, you can purchase only the workbook to save money.)

Grammar & Writing Grade 8, by Curtis & Hake. High school students will also benefit from Grammar and Writing 8, because it thoroughly covers the skills needed for college board exams.
