The story line revolves around the Park and Brenan families who develop a friendship early in the series and have many adventures together. In the first episodes, Jonathan Park goes to public school and his friend Jessie is homeschooled. A little while later, the Park family decides to homeschool too.
Jonathan Park encourages kids to “live the adventure” and explore our world. This theme makes these CD’s the perfect entertainment for long road trips. We have listened to all of them on our many travels throughout the southwest, which is fitting since quite a few episodes take place in New Mexico. The characters also go to various locations around the world, which further peaked our interest in other places.
These fascinating shows are great for geology, geography and history buffs as well anyone who wants to explore the creation side of the evolution vs. creation debate. Younger children will like the emphasis on fossil discoveries and dinosaurs. Older children, teens and adults will be challenged and equipped to defend a Biblical worldview. I especially like the fact that it educates the listener on the arguments AGAINST creation science and then shows how to discredit those arguments.
In addition to the well-produced audio dramas, each Jonathan Park CD comes with a study guide designed to strengthen your understanding of the scientific and biblical lessons taught. These booklets feature additional facts, activities, discussion topics, and resources related to each episode. They are a great resource for Bible studies, homeschool lessons, and fun family activities. More supplemental materials are available online to reinforce the science behind the stories. All of this makes the purchase price a real bargain for the comprehensive product that you receive.
There is so much information presented in the Jonathan Park stories that you will want to listen to them over and over again.
