Black Canyon Bicentennial Lions Club
Started in 1976 by some civic-minded BCC residents, the Lions Club is made up of regular people who find the time to help others in the community, state, country, and world. The monies they raise go toward helping qualified individuals in the community get much needed glasses, hearing aids, and eye surgeries. They support the community with projects such as the Christmas Angel Tree, and they also support state and international projects.

The Black Canyon City Community Association is composed of the various Service, Government, and other Organizations in town. They take care of BCC's own High Desert Park, maintain a hiking trail, and host a Thanksgiving turkey dinner every year that is free to those who can't afford to make a donation. They also have an Easter Egg Hunt, other events and fundraisers. Their clubhouse is used for Christmas food baskets and Angel Tree gifts center. If you would like to join our club and help us work on new projects each year, please call 623-374-5262 for an application. The park is located at 19001 Jacie Lane in BCC.

Horses Help provides therapeutic and recreational horseback riding to a diverse population of people with special needs. The mission of Horses Help Foundation is to measurably enhance the physical movement, processing patterns, trust, self-confidence, self-esteem, social skills, sense of achievement and pride - that is the overall quality and productivity of life - of people with physical and/or cognitive impairments, through therapeutic and recreational horseback riding. The New River/Desert Hills Community Association, Inc. (NR/DHCA) is dedicated to the preservation of our Community and its rural life style as described by the Maricopa County Land Use Plan, New River Planning Area. We collaborate with governmental entities by listening, collecting information, and
sharing our community's opinions. We hold our public meetings at 7:30 pm on the first Tuesday of each month at Crossroads Christian Fellowship, 42425 N. New River Rd. We have speakers, holiday socials, activities with Kiwanis, 7th Street litter removal, and other activities. Our top recommendations are:
Preserve the scenic and recreational value of the land.
Ensure there is free public access to BLM land (including across private lands).
Preserve the wildlife and vegetation of the area.
Protect the watershed and our water sources.
Protect and preserve cultural and/or historical value.

Pioneer Living History Museum
This outdoor museum recreates the way of life for settlers residing in the Arizona Territory during the 1880-1912 era. Volunteers assist in basic cleaning, painting, building fences, setting rocks, organizing, yard work, animal grooming, and much more. Located in North Phoenix at Pioneer Rd. & I-17.
