Pat McMahon

Pat McMahon grew up in a show-business family and was home schooled on the road using curriculum from The Calvert School. McMahon starred in the The Wallace And Ladmo Show, which aired on KPHO-TV from 1954 to 1989. He played a variety of characters, most notably Gerald, the spoiled rich kid. The one-hour show was on five days a week for a record-setting 35 years, the longest running locally produced children's television show in history.

Three generations of Arizona kids grew up with Wallace and Ladmo. Among the show's fans were Steven Spielberg and Alice Cooper. The Wallace and Ladmo Show is such an important part of Phoenix history that the Arizona Historical Society Museum created a "Wallace, Ladmo and Company" exhibit.

McMahon's many years on the long-running, groundbreaking children's show Wallace and Ladmo are just part of Pat's remarkable resume', which includes acting, producing, writing, recording and broadcasting. Pat's professional and personal contributions have been richly rewarded with seven Emmy awards, major national and international radio awards, numerous civic, educational, religious and humanitarian awards. He even received an Honorary Doctorate from Ottawa University.

The child who once traveled the world with his show-business family is now the holder of the Arizona Broadcasters Lifetime Achievement Award, the only two time Hall of Fame recipient of the Arizona Broadcasters Association, and his bronze likeness hangs alongside Hugh Downs and Leslie Nielsen in the rotunda of the Herberger Theater in recognition of his contributions to Communications and The Arts.

The local theater community has named the McMahons "The First Family of Arizona Entertainment." Pat, no doubt, feels most comfortable simply being thought of as "Arizona's Own" on The Pat McMahon Show, weekdays from 9-10 AM exclusively on AZTV7/Cable 13. He also has an exciting new position as Director of Public Affairs for News Radio 92.3 KTAR.

In addition to Pat's live hour on AZTV7/Cable 13 each morning, there are the daily commentaries during "Arizona's Morning News." He also hosts the weekly "McMahon Group" all-star panel, and "The God Show" Sunday program that connects with the spiritual pulse of the Valley. If anyone ever told Pat McMahon, "You can't do it all!" he was clearly not listening.
